Jan. 15, 1817 — I had occasion to come downstairs last night to my workroom for my watch, which I had inadvertently left on my table when I went up to bed. I think I was at the top of the last flight when I had a sudden impression of a sharp whisper in my ear ‘Take care.’ I clutched the balusters and naturally looked round at once. Of course, there was nothing. After a moment I went on — it was no good turning back — but I had as nearly as possible fallen: a cat — a large one by the feel of it — slipped between my feet, but again, of course, I saw nothing. It may have been the kitchen cat, but I do not think it was.

Oct. 22 — The whispering in my house was more persistent tonight. I seemed not to be rid of it in my room. I have not noticed this before. A nervous man, which I am not, and hope I am not becoming, would have been much annoyed, if not alarmed, by it. The cat was on the stairs tonight. I think it sits there always. There is no kitchen cat.

Nov. 5 — I am much troubled in sleep. No definite image presented itself, but I was pursued by the very vivid impression that wet lips were whispering into my ear with great rapidity and emphasis for some time together…

Errr…actually I think you’ll find it does. Those are games. Which you play. You play games, you’re a gamer. The logic is really pretty simple.

Incidentally, why did you feel the need to bring gender into your comment? Would you say that a guy who plays Call of Duty or Halo is not a gamer? Or is it just women who need to have their gamer credentials critiqued?

I’m so tired of this attitude. Really. Games are for playing. Those who play are gamers. End of.

Totally with you on drawings 2 and 3, but as a larger busted lady I’d take a custom-formed breastplate over a boob-squashing man-shaped chestplate any day! I like to be comfortable when I’m out slaying dragons/saving the galaxy.

Still, I’ve read that such a custom-formed breastplate means that it would offer much weaker protection against attacks… I am no expert myself, though.

Sorry it’s taken me so long to respond to this! Ive been doing some research and you’re absolutely right - it looks like a boob-shaped cuirass would actually be very dangerous! There’s a great post about it here:

From a comfort point of view I’d still want something shaped for a female figure, but not an actual moulded bust - I like my sternum intact…!
